I'm still thinking and praying through all that my Father revealed to me while in Guatemala, June 15-21, 2024. Our team of 19 traveled to San Lorenzo, Guatemala, to help Jason and Kelly Hart minister to malnourished babies, children and pregnant women through Bible study with moms, VBS type activities with children, soccer with kids in the neighborhood, and construction on new clinic. As I reflect on the things I saw, and the God moments I experienced, I am moved by the vibrant love and life of Jesus Christ that shown through the hearts and lives of His people. God's Spirit continues to patiently interact with humanity, illuminating their hearts to His truth and reality, persistently wooing them with a never-ending love.
I am thankful for God's provision. I knew I wanted to go on this trip with my daughter Kinley, but I also knew that we didn't have the extra funds available. In my spirit I sensed the Lord urging me to use what I had, and trust Him to provide the rest. He used amazing people like you to give generously and partner with us in this opportunity to minister to children and families in Guatemala. THANK YOU to all who gave, prayed, and supported us in countless ways— you are amazing!
I am thankful for my daughter. As Kinley pursues the Father’s heart, He speaks into her life, and she overflows with love and compassion into the lives of others around her. Whether playing with kids at VBS, showing moms how to create their own journal, or rocking a baby to sleep on her shoulder, she overcame the language barrier through simple acts of love and kindness! I got a small glimpse of our heavenly Father’s joy spending Father’s Day with her and watching her reflect His love and goodness!.jpeg)
I am thankful for compassionate hearts. The Lord has stirred the hearts of Jason and Kelly to minister in a unique way to the malnourished children, pregnant moms, and even single mothers in San Lorenzo, Guatemala. Often the Lord will use short-term mission trips to open people’s eyes to the harassed and helpless, but the Father’s love and sincere compassion for the lost is what truly motivates individuals like the Harts to minister long-term in a foreign land. Pray for them, because it’s not easy.
I am thankful for answered prayers. One of the best indicators of the reality of a Triune God is the experiential evidence provided by answered prayers. Our Father invites us to reach out to Him, trusting His Spirit to guide and provide.
I am thankful for unity. The Holy Spirit has a unique way of bringing very different people together and providing them with the same love and heart and mind of Christ that enables them to minister together for His honor and glory! When God’s people intentionally put the interests of others before their own, they model by example the same love that Jesus revealed as He offered His life on the cross for what others might get out of it—the wrath of God appeased, forgiveness of sins, and a new heart that beats in unison with our heavenly Father! Cultural barriers, language and socio-economic differences all seem to melt away as the presence of God’s Spirit synchronizes the heartbeat of His children with that of our Father.

Words could never describe how much we appreciate each and every one of you who partnered with us in both prayer and support! Please continue to pray for the amazing people of Guatemala, and for those who continue to share the grace, truth, and love of God with them!
